Last week we traveled to Tazin Lake Lodge on Tazin Lake in northwestern Saskatchewan to hunt for a world-record lake trout. The entire trip was an adventure, from the travel to the wildlife to the big fish that we hooked into. We filmed for Northland Outdoors Television, and you’ll get to see the giant lake trout for yourself coming soon to the television show, but you can hear about them and how you can make your way up there to catch a world-record fish by listening to this week’s radio show.
Trevor Montgomery was my guide and is one of the owners of Tazin Lake Lodge and explains how you can fish up there and what type of gear we used and what to expect at Tazin Lake Lodge.
Also, John Devney is the VP of U.S. Policy with Delta Waterfowl and talks to us about breeding duck numbers in North Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin and how that may translate to this fall’s hunting season.
Plus, we learn “More Than You Ever Wanted To Know About” sea ducks. We saw a surf scoter when we were up on Tazin Lake, so we thought we’d learn more about scoters and other sea ducks on this week’s show.
